Chief Post Office Reopens as Britomart Entrance

Auckland Transport to actually build cycleways

In a surprise announcement, Auckland Transport has revealed that they will “actually build some cycleways” in the next 12 months, ending their current policy of “doing everything they can to avoid building cycleways”. AT Chief Executive Shane Ellison announced the new policy, after facing much pressure over the past couple of weeks following the release of ATAP 2021, which is projected to spend $31 billion and increase, rather than decrease, emissions.…
Redeveloping the Downtown Carpark
The Council’s Planning Committee meet tomorrow and perhaps the most interesting item on the agenda a paper about the sale and redevelopment of the Downtown Carpark. Concerningly, it shows Auckland Transport still fundamentally misunderstand their and the city’s transport objectives.
The council agreed to put the carpark up for sale last year after COVID wreaked havoc on their budgets.…
