Alert to Changing Default Speeds

Yesterday, Auckland Transport announced: New and safe speed limits on more than 600 roads across Auckland will come into force from 30 June 2020 onwards. In an email they also advised: This tranche will be completed by November 2021. It’s a huge relief that these changes bringing in safe speeds have not been cut in the emergency budget.…

Here’s our weekly roundup. Off-peak fares We’ve long suggested that Auckland Transport should introduce discounted off-peak fares and now they’re doing just that, for June at least. Improving our central isthmus corridors

One of the most important projects Auckland Transport has on its books right now is Connected Communities, formerly known as the Integrated Corridor Priority Programme. Priorities on display

Yesterday Auckland Transport removed a section of temporary cycleway on Tamaki Dr, despite only days earlier quoting a 91% increase in the number of bikes on their counters. In a response to Waitemata Local Board member Graeme Gunthorp they said they removed it because of an increase in trucks and safety concerns and as such, cyclists would need to once again share the narrow shared path with pedestrians.…
