Aucklanders are driving less
New data from the NZTA shows that Aucklanders are driving less and that’s before we see the impacts the regional fuel tax has had.
Every year the NZTA publish information on how many kilometres vehicles travel (VKT) and break that down by a number of ways including where that travel happened, such as which region and whether on local roads or state highways.…
May-19 AT Board meeting
Thursday is the next Auckland Transport board meeting and here are some of the highlights from the papers going to the board.
Closed Agenda
There is surprisingly little on the closed agenda for this meeting with the only things of real interest being: Enterprise Asset Management Business Case

Titled Turning the Tide – from Cars to Active Transport, the report calls for the share of trips taken by car to drop from 83% to 45% with the difference made up by significant increases to walking, cycling and public transport.…
Council to decide on extra CRL funding
Just before Easter we learnt that the City Rail Link was to be around $1 billion more expensive than previously thought thanks to higher than expected construction cost inflation, additional contingency funds, future proofing for 9-car trains and some higher non-direct costs.…
