Fairfax papers focusing on the rail system
It appears that Fairfax is have a big focus on rail this week with most of the local papers – except the ones on the shore – having articles about the system. We have:

Auckland is already getting benefits through the electrification of the rail network. All over the city bridges are being improved or replaced in order to accommodate the overhead wires for the new trains, mostly this involves road bridges but in a couple places we are getting new foot and bike bridges.…

Government funding to help make Skypath a reality
While many (not all) locals are busy doing whatever they can to stop the Skypath from happening, in an extremely positive sign at least one government ministry can see the benefit of it. The Ministry for the Environment has announced that it will provide $193,000 in funding to help investigate the feasibility of the project.…
CRL Notice of Requirement Report

Massive feedback for the Unitary Plan
The Auckland Council have announced just how much feedback they received about the Unitary Plan.
Thousands of Aucklanders have taken the opportunity to have their say on the draft Auckland Unitary Plan.
Around 22,700 pieces of feedback have been received via forms, emails and letters, as well as an additional 6,540 comments and posts gathered from social media and the Shape Auckland website.…
