Manukau Bus Interchange
The new bus network for South Auckland will significantly improve public transport options for many people in the area. A key feature of the network is about making it easier to transfer between services and one of the main places that will happen is in Manukau – one of Auckland’s most important regional centres.…
Effectiveness & Efficiency == Abundance?
In the last few months we’ve published several posts which have, in various ways, touched on some important issues facing local government in Auckland. In this post I seek to summarise some key concepts that have emerged in these posts, and consider some broader implications for Council policies, especially relating to transport.…
The Same Day
A great ad from the Spanish Transport department highlighting the growing frustration of constant traffic jams and the fight to find parking – urging people to re-think how they travel to and from work. s…
Airbus Express becomes SkyBus
Auckland’s city to airport bus has new owners bringing with them a new name, a new livery and promising a higher quality service. The Airbus Express service has been bought by SkyBus who operate Melbourne’s airport bus service.

They were also keen to point out that the main reason for the loss was the cost of maintaining the rail network which includes 4,000 kilometres of track, 1500 bridges and 150 tunnels.…
Population Growth in 2015
Last week Statistics NZ released their provisional population estimates as of 30 June 2015 and there were some interesting results.
All regions in NZ with the exception of the West Coast saw their population increase with the largest increase both in total number and in percentage occurring in Auckland.…
The Original Harbour Bridge
If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter then you may have seen some of these the other day. If you haven’t, here is a collection of some great old colour photos of the Auckland Harbour Bridge and St Mary’s Bay before they both got fatter with more traffic lanes.…
