Mayor’s Long Term Plan proposal released
This morning the mayor released his proposal for the Long Term Plan, which outlines the 10 year budget for the city. This is the first stage in a 9 month process.

Looking back at the existing LTP
Yesterday it emerged that the council is taking a knife to its next Long Term Plan and potentially start cutting projects completely in a bid to keep rates down. One comment that came through clearly yesterday was that the council will have to be careful what projects they cut because if they cut the wrong ones, like many of the PT and walking/cycling projects they should also cut the worlds most liveable city slogan too. …

D-Day for the City Rail Link
Tomorrow Councillors will debate the feedback from submissions on the 2012-2022 Long Term Plan (LTP). There’s a lengthy agenda item on the LTP on the Council website, but even it doesn’t get into the details too much – detailed papers will supposedly be distributed separately, which means another mass of documents are likely to be uploaded onto the Council website in the next couple of days.…
