The Hidden PT Projects in the LTP

Many people, including myself have been pretty critical of the changes made to the Auckland plan around and more recently the Draft Long Term Plan, especially around development and transport. I mentioned the other day how we have gone from having a split of roads vs PT projects from being 50:50 in the RLTS from a few years ago to 60:40 now which is hardly the transformational change that the council talks about publicly.…

Long Term Plan on Transport

The council is currently working through finalising the Auckland Plan which has sadly seen it change from being quite transformational in regards to development and transport to become more of the same. What’s worse is that in many ways is actually a backwards step as the split in spending between roads and public transport has actually shifted away from the 50:50 agreed to in the 30 year Regional Land Transport Strategy that was set a few years ago to now be 60:40 in favour of roads as pointed out here by Cr Wayne Walker when discussing the transport changes.…
