Priorities on display

Yesterday Auckland Transport removed a section of temporary cycleway on Tamaki Dr, despite only days earlier quoting a 91% increase in the number of bikes on their counters. In a response to Waitemata Local Board member Graeme Gunthorp they said they removed it because of an increase in trucks and safety concerns and as such, cyclists would need to once again share the narrow shared path with pedestrians.…

Flashback Saturday: CBD Rail Tunnel Study Announced

(Almost) every weekend we dig into the archives. This post was first published in October 2009. Well after a lot of bad news relating to public transport recently, it’s very nice to see some good news emerging for once. ARTA and KiwiRail have announced a jointly funded study into Auckland’s CBD Rail Tunnel project, to determine the best route, the best station locations and an economic justification for the project.…

Skypath Feedback At the end of March, Waka Kotahi NZTA kicked off a new consultation for Skypath and in particular the focusing on the landings.
