CCFAS to be released today

Newstalk ZB is reporting that the City Centre Future Access Study (CCFAS) will be released today by Len Brown. This is the study that Brian Rudman got his hands on a couple of weeks back, which highlighted something akin to ‘impending doom’ for Auckland’s city centre due to growing public transport and private vehicle trips to the city centre over the next 10 years and beyond.…

Gerry Brownlee on the CRL

Phil Tywford asked transport minister Gerry Brownlee in parliament yesterday about the CRL Transscript is here. Perhaps it is just me dreaming but Gerry did at least seem less negative about it than he had in the past. What does the CCFAS document tell us?

Whoever leaked the draft City Centre Future Access study (CCFAS) is, as Mr Anderson said in a comment the other day, a complete and utter idiot (assuming that it’s someone from Auckland Transport rather than Central Government). After working so hard over the past year to get beyond the differences in opinion between the two parties which plagued last year’s review of the CRL’s original business case, it’s really dumb to spoil this goodwill by jumping the gun.…
