Some more images from Isabella Cawthorn of some temporary place making on Bond St in Wellington. A bit of paint, some large pots, some fake grass and an old shipping container can really transform an old piece of asphalt.

When will this get to Auckland?
Already here – but only Waterfront Auckland (and to a very minor degree City Centre) seem to be doing it.
It was great! I moved all my meetings down there and had them in the sun. Such luck that it coincides with lovely calm, hot days. Best bit was low humidity means I can drink twice as much coffee as usual.
Wow. Didn’t know about that. I’ll get down there and check it out.
Bond St has been a lot nicer since they closed the intersection with willis st to traffic. A bit of work and it could become a great pedestrian thoroughfare right thru to the shared space at cuba st.
Should keep it going. Looks good – although the awesome weather helps.

Good work Wellington. I’m thinking even pots like those every 2m or so would be quick, easy cycle protection and look great too in arterials. Different streets different colors different flowers etc.Mass produced would keep costs down.
