Council Supports Waterview Connection
Unsurprisingly, although perhaps a little disappointingly, Auckland City Council will support the new alignment of the Waterview Connection, as proposed by NZTA in May. I did about a million posts on the topic at the time (and ended up rather sick to death with the whole issue to be honest), but it is interesting to see how things have progressed since the first days of shock when it was announced that we wouldn’t be getting the full tunnel option, but rather a half-tunnel, half-surface option.…

It’s comparatively very easy to come up with plans and strategies when it comes to transport planning. While reading through ARC transport committee agendas has to rank up there with watching grass grow and paint dry as one of the more boring things that one can possibly do, it is becoming obvious (to me at least) that the strategies are heading in the right direction in terms of promoting a greater focus on public transport and, hopefully, eventually reducing our auto-dependency.…
