Greater Auckland is excited to announce we are holding an event at 5pm on Thursday 27th February at the Ellen Melville Centre with Ray Delahanty, also known as CityNerd. Paid subscribers ($15) of the Substack will have access to free tickets, or tickets are available for purchase here at $20.

This post on substack has info on how paid substack subscribers access tickets.

Ray is the creator and star of the wildly popular City Nerd, a weekly series exploring urbanism, transportation and cities. Ray has a background in transportation planning and consulting, but he now spends his time creating content about cities based on research, living in different places and travel. Ray is travelling through New Zealand, and we are thrilled to be able to catch up with him at the beginning of his journey.

Patrick Reynolds of Greater Auckland will host a Q&A with Ray starting with the top 10 things he recommends for any visiting urbanist.

The event will be held upstairs at the Ellen Melville Centre in the Pioneer Women’s Hall (2 Freyberg Place, Auckland Central 1000).

Doors open 4:45pm, event starts 5:00pm.

  1. It would be great to invite Chris Bishop along to start a dialogue!

He has recently stated he considers himself an urbanist.
