    1. Well according to this post this post from Graeme Easte – who generally know whats going on with this sort of craziness.
It looks like the Flyover idea is being replaced by a full on motorway – probably paid for by NZTA by making the East/West link a full Sate Highway.

Exactly where and how that will go compared to the East/West link connection AT and NZTA consulted on last year is hard to know, nor how it hooks up with Pakuranga highway as Reeves Road was planned to do.
I think its a safe bet that it will be like/parallel to Gossamer Road then run across the Tamaki river south of the Waipuna bridge, which is due for duplication anyway at some point.
So this duplication may simply touch down closer to Onehunga than the SEART motorway as everyone assumed.

Until we see some plans, its hard to oppose it though.
One thing is for sure, The Empire will strike back…

      1. I thought you were talking about the Basin Reserve Flyover being replaced with a motorway for a minute, until I realised you were talking about the Reeves Rd flyover. I’m glad to hear that Reeves Road is being rethought – no such luck yet with Basin Reserve.

Meanwhile, in Wellington, NZTA are still staying mum on their plans. They lost the case at the hearing, and are now taking the matter to appeal, to try and force a flyover on the people of Wellington. It’s really important that the fight against the appeal is funded, otherwise Goliath wins again. If everyone of your readers made a $10 donation, the funding would be in place pretty quickly…. Thanks !

    1. Infact that’s what people probably said to you last time around, so can’t hurt saying it again, heh.
