A neat visualisation of actual passenger journeys on the London underground
A visualisation of 562,145 journeys on the London Underground network, from a 5% sample of Oyster-card journeys during a week in 2009
He explains more behind the visualization here.
Wouldn’t it be great if Auckland Transport released HOP data in a similar way so something similar could be done here. I imagine that among other things it would great for seeing where the system is being used.

I would love to see projections of trains on the network in real time at stations on a network map with coloured lines; Not only watch your train coming but get a real sense of the whole network operating. especially now that frequencies are becoming properly rapid. Busway too.

No much more like the visualisation above. Simple, graphic, no background.
I like this visualisation style better – https://vimeo.com/89305412
