10: Bag Hooks Under Tables

What if all restaurants and bars understood the value of bag and coat hooks under bar tables?
Not all great ideas need be large or ambitious. As someone who lives car free in Auckland and walks most places I can vouch personally for the value of somewhere to hang my winter coat and bag that is with me much of the time.

Absolutely agree with this. If more places offered coat-racks, I might go out more often.
The weather is a constraint on human beings, and we get around it by carrying large amounts of clothing around. When we get there, we have to take that clothing off to remain comfortable. It’s remarkable how few retailers, restaurants, and other facilities comprehend this basic fact and its implications.
Really? Lack of coat racks is keeping you at home. I mean I’m all for improved amenities but come on
No, lack of coat-racks does not keep me at home. But I do appreciate the places that offer them, and go to those places more often.

I didn’t know of such a thing until a couple of weeks ago. Jack Tar in Wynyard have them. Eureka!
Agreed. In New Zealand we have a fairly mild climate, but we seem to be under the mistaken impression that we have no inclement weather at all! This is obvious in little things like coat racks right up to the lack of double glazing and insulation on our homes.
Yep Depot has them and it’s very handy!
This one definitely gets my vote. Every restaurant with counter bench seating should have these installed.
Wouldn’t most tables and bars be too low to hang coats etc?
These guys are doing hooks and they are made in NZ! http://www.handbaghand.com
