The February board meeting of Auckland Transport is happening on Wednesday at 9.00am out at their Henderson headquarters. Here’s the agenda for the meeting:

The special topics would seem the most interesting, and I hope that Auckland Transport get around to publishing the board papers for these items on their website (we still haven’t seen the December business report!)

Another interesting thing to note is that there’s only an Open Agenda listed on the website. I wonder whether that means everything for this board meeting is open (wouldn’t that be nice?) or whether Auckland Transport is going super-secretive and not even telling us the items that will be discussed in secret. Unfortunately, I’m guessing the latter.

  1. All of the agenda items above except item 6 were discussed. After this open meeting there was a closed meeting which an agenda was not avaliable.

The most intersting aspect personally is the rail station upgrade programme. The board voted to support in principle the redevelopment of all stations which are to be electrified by the end of 2012. Huapai , Waitakere, Drury and Pukekohe stations are to be constructed and redeveloped post-electrification.

Two rail station developments which I thought were the most interesting was Onehunga and Parnell. The station upgrade phasing indicates that Onehunga platform is to be extended, with a partial station upgrade and track work costing $500,000 by the end of August 2011. Parnell station is to be constructed by September 2012 including heritage station placement costing approximately $15 million.
