Merry Christmas from all of us here at Transportblog. I hope everyone is able to enjoy the holiday season with family and friends.

While Santa didn’t bring us it for Christmas, I suspect tha during the next year we might see start to see the Congestion Free Network become more of a reality. Now that really would be like present for all of Auckland.

And lastly many of you will have seen Stu’s posts throughout the year where he has randomly included pictures of puppies. In honor of that and seeing as Stu is currently languishing in the cold of Northern Europe (in Norway at the moment I think), here is a photo of my dogs enjoying the evening sun on the beach at Whangamata (big one is still a puppy).

  1. Wishing you guys at Transport Blog a Merry Christmas from the deep south of Auckland ๐Ÿ™‚ and a Happy New Year.

A thank you also for the hard work Transport Blog, Generation Zero and CBT for your efforts this year with the Congestion Free Network and through its course the Unitary Plan.

Looking forwarding to 2014 and the exciting City Building Phase ahead of us – which I know you all will be along for the ride ๐Ÿ˜€

Have a good one and try not overindulge or get major sunburnt ๐Ÿ˜‰ – and will see you early next year – no doubt in rather earnest too

  2. The CRL certainly isn’t a certainty. A new round of work may be required to create enough impetus from all sectors – the right may now have decided that the CRL is ‘Len’s Loop’, and oppose it just to weaken him and PT-friendly councillors. This is a mad scenario, but it’s the gossip I’m hearing.

For Xmas I’m going to celebrate my new train set (which I don’t get to play with until April, but still!).

  3. Dear all at Transportblog,

You have done yet another stellar job of keeping us all informed of issues and potental solutions over the past year.

After a 3 year break in Switzerland, I return to reside in Auckland once again in a weeks time. I am looking forward to rejoining the active better transport brigade, especially during an exciting election year.

Additionally, my new job starting end of Feb will once again see me as a daily rail user into Britomart on the Southern/Eastern lines, so looking forward to riding the new EMUยดs and a new Otahuhu transport interchange.

    Cheers
    Jon

  4. Merry Xmas to the Transportblog crew, I have learned heaps reading this site – and there isn’t a lot of places you could say that about! Keep up the good work, 2013 was the year you overtook the minister in being regarded as more authoritative, no mean feat, so who knows where 2014 will end!

    1. Tautoko that. It was a very good year for Transportblog. You really are one of the most influential voices on both transport and Auckland’s development. I hope you take great heart from that.

  5. Cheers to well informed debate, positive solutions and creative thinking. I’m looking forward to more in 2014. Safe holidays everyone and thank you.
