Overall it sounds positive so it will be interesting to see how things go. I am aware that AT are already going through their past board meetings to see what items from the confidential section can be released to the public which is a good start. In terms of improving the customer experience I do feel that the best thing to do is to understand what customers face so perhaps Lester could take a trip on the trains in the morning peak with me to see things from a customer experience?

  1. Most of the things in confidential at AT board meetings looks like it should be done in public. Like today’s Dominion Road upgrade announcement.

  2. Not comfortable with operations being contracted out. Wants to look at how AT can assume greater responsibilty for operations in working with contractors. Proud of his ability to secure bulk funds when in the health sector (could be handy for crl) and does not want services to be cut, interested in productivity gains. Hopefully he’ll make a positive contribution in the organisation continuing to improve and progress.
